The Story of ‘Bela Feminina’ Reusable Cloth Pads

It’s estimated that the average woman goes through approximately 11,000 pads or tampons in their lifetime.

That’s a lot of pads and tampons.

At Purple Carrot, we offer alternatives to disposable pads and tampons, in efforts to reduce waste, and provide non-toxic options for feminine hygiene products.

We’re really excited about our latest addition: Bela Feminina reusable cloth pads!

Not only are they clear of dioxin, odours and toxic fibres, but they serve as a great waste and cost reduction tool, lasting at least 5 years - and sometimes longer!

Our favourite part about the pads is that they are made in a remote village in Mexico, providing income for two native Mexican ladies and their children.

The hope from Irene Simpson, the Lethbridge woman who facilitates this project, is in increasing opportunity... something she hopes to see come to fruition as sales continue to grow.
