Custom Nutrition for Your Body
The cells in our bodies are built from the raw materials we eat. The more suitable our food choices are to our own specific requirements, the better cell structures we can build and the healthier we will be. Our focus is to make sure that you are eating the right foods for your body. When we don't give our body the building blocks it requires, it will start giving us signals that it is out of balance and not functioning at our most optimal. We need to look at your diet, lifestyle, habits and behaviours to determine where the root of the imbalance is. Not only do you need to eat nutrient dense foods, you need to make sure that you are absorbing the nutrients from your foods.
Intolerance Testing
What are the "right foods"?
When we are designing a plan for you, we want to make sure that you are eating the "right foods" for you. Not only does this mean that you are eating healthy, nutrient dense, whole foods but it also means that these foods are not causing any stress to your body.
Sometimes there may be food sensitivities that are stressing our body systems. If you have any of the following symptoms you may find that food sensitivities are an issue for you :
Headaches or Migraines
Digestive Disorders
Constipation or Diarrhea
Gas or Bloating
Scratchy Throat
Arthritis
Fatigue
Weight Gain
Nighttime Urination
Chronic Coughing
Acne, Rashes or Eczema
Hives
Learning disabilities
ADD/ADHD
Low Immune function (Chronic colds or infections)
Runny nose or Chronic congestion
How can I be tested for intolerance's or sensitivities?
Bio-feedback Analysis is a simple method to detect sensitivities using one's own muscle strength and the static electricity present in the body. It is based on the idea that there is an energy field which flows around and through all things. With Bio-feedback Analysis, the body's energy is used as a gauge to determine the level of intolerance to a given food or environmental substance. A positive influence on the body will cause the energy to flow more freely, thus strengthening an isolated muscle. This confirms the body's ability to process the substance being tested. Conversely, a negative influence will lessen the flow of energy and weaken the isolated muscle indicating the presence of a stressor or intolerance.
Using this accurate, non-invasive and painless method of analysis, even children feel comfortable with it.
Food and Environmental testing takes the guesswork out of finding out what your body doesn't like.
Bioenergetics
BioEnergetics (BIE) is a simple new natural modality that enables one’s body to recognize stressors. A unique state-of-the-art device is used to transmit a low electronic frequency onto various acupuncture points on the body (without the use of needles) to stimulate and re-balance the body's energy. BIE enables one`s body to recognize stressors allowing for recovery from symptoms associated with internal imbalance. While the body's energy is being rebalanced, the body's cells are literally being reprogrammed to recognize a particular substance's energy frequency. When this non-invasive and painless procedure is complete, there is an energy balance with this substance and therefore the body will no longer produce any adverse reactions due to imbalance. The body will no longer see the substance or stressor as a threat when it is exposed to it. By incorporating ancient Eastern knowledge with state of the art technology, BIE helps the body to create natural balance known as Homeostasis, therefore alleviating suffering.
What is Homeostasis?
Homeostasis basically just means balance. It is a state of body equilibrium or stable internal environment of the body. When you really think about the fact that your body contains trillions of cells in nearly constant activity, and that remarkably little usually goes wrong with it, you begin to appreciate what a marvelous machine your body really is. Communication within the body is essential for homeostasis. The word "homeostasis" describes the body's ability to maintain relatively stable internal conditions even though the outside world is continuously changing. Although the literal translation of homeostasis is "unchanging" (homeo = the same; stasis = standing still), the term does not really mean an unchanging state. Instead, it indicates a dynamic state of equilibrium or balance in which the internal conditions change and vary, but
always within relatively narrow limits in order to be free of any adverse reactions. In general, the body is in homeostasis when its needs are being adequately met and is functioning smoothly.
How many sessions are required? How soon will I notice results?
Generally, it requires only 1 to 4 visits to create balance or homeostasis with a particular substance. In many cases, clients notice a difference after the first visit.
In order for the body to achieve complete balance with a particular substance, the client may require a second, third or, rarely even a fourth visit, dependent upon the stress level of the client, the amount of bodily toxins, the strength of the person's immune system, the client's level of hydration. Once homeostasis or balance is achieved, there is usually no need for subsequent visits for the same substance.
If there are multiple stressors affecting the client, there may be a need for further sessions.
Are there side effects?
This is what is normally called "the detox" or "healing crisis". After a session a person may feel extra fatigued, have a headache, have aches and pains... almost flu like symptoms. Symptoms can last (though rarely) up to 1 -3 weeks after a session. The most common of symptoms reported is "fatigue". This is because the body is working over-time to deal with the new information it has been given and cleansing itself.
What can I expect in the first appointment?
We address each of our clients individually. Prior to your first appointment, you will fill out an intake form and a 3-5 day dietary recall. During your first appointment we will go over this form and discuss various other aspects of your lifestyle and diet.
Often times we will do a Food or Environmental Sensitivity testing and a BIE session if necessary. An initial appointment including Food or Environmental Intolerance testing often times lasts about 2 hours and follow up sessions are usually about 45 minutes. Initial Nutritional Consultations (without testing) is usually about an hour and follow up sessions are usually 30 minutes.
We take into consideration your age, gender, lifestyle, stressors, diet, exercise and your goals when designing any program for you. It is very important to us that you are comfortable with our goals and that you find them attainable. We will also provide recipes, grocery shopping tips and cooking tips when desired. Our passion is health and we’ll provide as much education as possible during our sessions together.
Our Consultants
Cris Robinson – Nutritional Consultant, BIE & SRT Practitioner
I struggled with food sensitivities for many years and either had to avoid certain foods or suffer the consequences if I chose not to. As I got older, I found that I was becoming more sensitive to certain foods and also finding new sensitivities all the time. Once I had children who also had sensitivities, I found that maintaining everybody’s special diets was very difficult.
Once my children were old enough, I decided to go back to school and get my diploma in Holistic Nutrition. I received my diploma in Holistic Nutrition in 2008 from the Edison Institute of Nutrition and am registered as Nutritional Consulting Practitioner and Orthomolecular Health Practitioner with the IONC.
After a few months of Nutritional Consulting, I started looking for another modality to add to my practice. After much research, I decided that BIE was exactly what I was looking for. I traveled out to Oakville Ontario to study BIE in 2009 and received my designation as Registered BIE Practitioner from the Institute of Natural Health Technologies.
Since adding BIE to my practice, I have seen amazing results. Now that my body is more in balance, I am able to eat foods that used to always cause much distress. I have also seen such an improvement in my children’s health. I have a huge passion for health and am very blessed that my career allows me to use my passion to help other people every day.

Kylee Duncan– Nutritional Consultant, BIE & SRT Practitioner
My passion for nutrition started at a young age. I was involved in many sports and saw how my nutrition affected my performance. This peaked my interest in how many other ways my nutrition could be affecting my health. After graduating high school I started my nutrition training at SAIT, taking mainstream nutrition. Upon receiving my designation as a nutritionist I wanted to learn more about how to use food as medicine. I then continued training at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition earning my diploma in Holistic Nutrition and becoming a registered holistic nutritional consultant with CANNP. With the changes I had made to my diet over the years, I saw improvements in my asthma and seasonal allergies. I had struggled with these since childhood. Even after seeing significant improvements, I still felt there was something missing.
After learning about food sensitivities and the impacts they can have on the body, I decided that I wanted to pursue more training in this area. This was my missing link that helped my body reach a state of balance. I feel so fortunate to share my knowledge with my clients and blend it with my passion for nutrition.
